Kampala, Uganda
Government forensic DNA results have confirmed that only four out of 25 individuals who claimed to be children of late Kadongo Kamu music legend Paul Kafeero are biologically related to him.
The results were released at Police Headquarters in Naguru.
DNA testing exercise was conducted on 25 individuals who had presented themselves as children of the late musician. According to the results, only four were confirmed as biological children.
Those confirmed include Benedicto Kafeero, Simon Peter Kafeero, Thomas Swaz Kafeero, and Elizabeth Nagawa.
The process was overseen by officials from the Police Forensic Directorate and the Government Analytical Laboratory. It was also monitored by Minister of Local Government of Uganda Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, alongside forensic experts including Andrew Mubiru and Kepher Kuchana Kateu.
The late Paul Kafeero, widely known as Prince Job Paul Kafeero, remains one of Uganda’s most influential Kadongo Kamu musicians.
The results bring scientific clarity to a long-running dispute over the singer’s paternity claims, which have for years surrounded his legacy and estate-related discussions.
Such DNA exercises are often used in inheritance and family verification cases, especially where questions of lineage affect legal rights and public recognition.
Forensic experts collected and analysed DNA samples from all 25 claimants and compared them with available biological reference material linked to the late musician. The testing was carried out under government forensic procedures at the Police Forensic Directorate.
