KAMPALA, Uganda
Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, Col. Edith Nakalema, has publicly appealed to former Miss Uganda Stellah Nantumbwe to return property allegedly taken from her former husband, identified as Bukenya, following the breakdown of their marriage.
Speaking in remarks that have since circulated widely on social media, Nakalema claimed that Nantumbwe left her marital home with belongings she said belonged to her ex-husband.
“Nantumbwe, please. God gave you a blessing, but the devil made you take the man’s belongings,” Nakalema said.
According to Nakalema, Nantumbwe and Bukenya separated after their marriage reportedly ended in divorce. She alleged that Nantumbwe, accompanied by her mother, removed property from the former matrimonial home.
“This is the same man you chose and introduced to your parents. Instead, you and your mother came and took his property,” Nakalema said.
She urged the former beauty queen to reconsider her actions and return any belongings that do not belong to her.
Nakalema framed her remarks as a moral appeal rather than a legal accusation, calling on Nantumbwe to reflect on the situation.
“I pray to God that you reconsider. You will not enjoy the man’s things while he is there crying. Repent and return the man’s belongings,” she added.
As of publication, Stellah Nantumbwe had not publicly responded to Nakalema’s claims, and no court documents or official legal proceedings related to the allegations had been made public.
Similarly, Bukenya had not issued a public statement regarding the matter.
The allegations remain unverified, and it is unclear whether any dispute over property ownership has been formally reported to law enforcement or brought before a court.
In Uganda, disputes arising from divorce or separation are typically handled through family courts, mediation processes, or mutual settlement agreements where necessary.
