A renewed online debate has emerged after contrasting public statements from musicians Keko and Sheebah Karungi regarding claims of a past romantic relationship between the two artists.

In a recent interview shared on social media, rapper Keko stated that she and Sheebah were once in a romantic relationship that lasted approximately two years.

She further claimed that their separation came after Sheebah felt her career was not progressing as expected at the time, suggesting that personal and professional pressures contributed to the split.

Keko also reflected on her status in the music industry during that period, describing herself as a major star at the time of the relationship.

However, the claims have reignited public discussion because Sheebah Karungi had previously denied ever being in a romantic relationship with Keko in an interview.

In that earlier statement, Sheebah dismissed suggestions of a romantic involvement between the two artists, maintaining that no such relationship existed.

The conflicting accounts have now resurfaced online following reposts and throwback clips circulating across entertainment platforms, prompting fans to question the accuracy of both stories.

The renewed attention has fueled debate on social media under entertainment hashtags, with fans divided over which version of events reflects the truth.

Some users point to Keko’s recent interview as a new revelation, while others reference Sheebah’s earlier denial as the definitive account.

Neither artist has issued a joint clarification or responded publicly to the renewed wave of online discussion at the time of reporting.

Both Keko and Sheebah remain influential figures in Uganda’s music industry, with Sheebah continuing to dominate the Afro-pop and dancehall scene, while Keko is recognized as one of Uganda’s pioneering female rappers.
