The Iteso cultural leadership, led by His Royal Highness Emorimor Papa Paul Sande Emolot, has paid a courtesy visit to former Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among at her residence in Nakasero, Kampala.

The Iteso Cultural Union engaging with the former Speaker in what was described as a cordial and cultural engagement.

The delegation was led by Emorimor Papa Paul Sande Emolot, the cultural leader of the Iteso people, who was accompanied by members of the Iteso Cultural Union.

They were received by Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, a senior Ugandan politician and former Speaker of Parliament, who is also a prominent figure from the Iteso community.

Iteso cultural leaders made a courtesy visit to Anita Among’s residence in Nakasero, where they held a private engagement focusing on cultural relations and community ties.

Images and posts from the visit showed the delegation interacting warmly with the former Speaker, reflecting continued engagement between cultural institutions and political leadership in Uganda.

The meeting took place at Anita Among’s residence in Nakasero, an upscale residential area in Kampala that hosts several senior political figures.

The visit highlights the continued role of cultural institutions in Uganda’s political and social life, particularly among the Iteso community, one of the largest ethnic groups in eastern Uganda.

The Iteso Cultural Union, led by the Emorimor, regularly engages with political leaders, government officials, and community stakeholders as part of its mandate to promote cultural identity, unity, and development.

The Emorimor and serves as a unifying cultural institution for the Iteso people in Uganda and Kenya.

Rt. Hon. Anita Among, a senior politician and former Speaker of Parliament, remains an influential figure in Uganda’s political landscape and continues to engage in public and community activities following her tenure in office.

The courtesy visit between the Iteso cultural leadership and Anita Among reflects ongoing interactions between Uganda’s cultural institutions and political leadership, underscoring the role of traditional authorities in national and community affairs.
